24 Apr Chad Martin Attends TIA Capital Ideas Conference and Exhibition on Scholarship
A.M. Transport’s Chad Martin
recently attended the 2018 TIA Conference on scholarship sponsored by Avalon Risk Management. Along with 5 other first-time TIA Conference attendees, Chad wrote an exceptional essay for which he received complimentary airfare, four nights lodging, and waived registration fees.
Each year, Transportation Intermediaries Association offers sponsored scholarships to up-and-coming 3PL professionals. This year’s conference was held in Palm Desert, California, from April 8-11.
TIA is the premiere professional organization of the 3PL industry;
in fact, it’s the only organization solely for 3PLs. The annual conference and exhibition offers industry professionals vast educational and networking opportunities.
As Michael McKinney, a long-time attendee of TIA conferences explains in a recent blog post, TIA members share ideas, best practices and tools of the trade. “If you want to learn and grow knowledge,” he claims, “the TIA conference is the venue for you” with industry experts offering educational sessions on just about everything.
That’s why winning a scholarship to attend is such an honor. We asked Chad to talk about his favorite aspects of the 2018 Conference. He said he was surprised by the energy he felt from the moment he entered the Marriott Resort. “It carried through the next four days,” he said.
The energy was just the beginning.
Networking is always a big part of the conference, and Chad explained that it took him out of his comfort zone, but taught him a lot and gained him some new friends. He found the learning sessions informative, valuable, and accessible with lots of opportunities for the sharing of ideas and thoughts. And he really enjoyed the exhibition. “The technology presented by the exhibitors was eye opening,” he said.
The TIA Conference is a great opportunity for 3PL professionals and it’s offered yearly in terrific locales. Here at A.M. Transport, we look forward to the annual gathering with its excitement, energy, and possibility for professional growth. Chad sums it up for all of us at A. M. Transport when he says, “After attending the conference, I feel more knowledgeable about the industry and I gained confidence.”
We can’t imagine a better outcome and can’t wait for next year’s conference! #TIA2019
