Intern Spotlight: Ben Stephenson

I’m pretty sure we have the best interns around. They come on board ready to try new things and to tackle new projects. From calling carriers to learn more about their needs and making preliminary sales calls to booking loads, these smart young people are energetic and excited to learn. This week we’re introducing you to Ben Stephenson. Ben is an 18-year-old resident of Olney, and because he went to grade school and high school with my son, Carter. I’ve been lucky to know Ben for many years.


How long have you been working at AM Transport, and what is your job here?

I’ve been working at AMT for four months. Currently, I’m a carrier representative and was previously a sales development representative.


What is your favorite thing about working here?

The friendly work environment.


What are you studying in college?

I’m studying business management at Olney Central College. Then I plan to transfer to USI Evansville, Indiana, or to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois.



Color: Other than black, it would have to be blue.

Sports Team:  My favorite sports team is the Chicago Bulls because I grew up watching them.

Television Show:  A football documentary called All American.

Music:  R&B/Hip Hop

Podcast:  The Joe Rogan Experience

Food:  Easily Mac N Cheese.

Vacation Location:  Panama City Beach, Florida


Do you have any siblings?

Yes, I have one older brother.


If someone gave you an elephant, what would you do with it?

Sell it to someone who could give it proper care.


Coffee or Tea?

Tea is superior to coffee because I’m not much of a morning person.


If you could pick an actor to play you in the story of your life, who would you choose?

It would probably have to be James Franco.


What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

My dad told me to always help others and to expect nothing in return.
