Victoria Sturm

Meet the team: Victoria Sturm

We have a smiling new face in the AMT office these days, and those smiles belong to Victoria Sturm, the newest addition to the AMT family. Victoria has been here just about a month. She’s a graduate of the local high school’s CEO program, and we are big fans of the program and its graduates! We’re happy to welcome Victoria!

Beer or wine: Wine for sure. I don’t like the taste of beer.

Skittles or M&Ms: Peanut M&Ms

Music: The music of Hamilton because it is a modern masterpiece of rhythm and great rhymes.

Television program: Grey’s Anatomy I can watch over and over, but I recently got into watching Suits.

Favorite performer: I don’t really have one, but I’d love to see Hamilton on Broadway.

Podcast: I want to get into podcasts, but I just haven’t had time to do so yet.

Sports team: I don’t watch sports often, but I do enjoy watching soccer once in a while.

Sport: Soccer. I played it in school, and I absolutely loved it.

Color: Purple. It was the color my mom used to paint my toes when my twin sister and I were born in order to tell us apart. My sister’s toes were pink, and that’s her favorite color still.

Power Ranger: Never watched the show, but I’m sure my favorite would be the coolest one.

When you’re driving down the road, what are you thinking about?

I mostly think about traveling. I absolutely love to travel. My first ever travel out of the country (and on a plane) was to Medellin, Colombia to meet my now boyfriend for the first time (we’d been talking on the phone for four years). Since that first trip in December 2018, I have traveled to Colombia six different times for a stay of either a week or up to three months. I’ve also traveled to Guatemala twice on a mission trip and to the Dominican Republic recently for another mission trip. I also visited Belize shortly for a beach vacation.

The best travel story I have would be my first trip to Colombia because I went all alone when I was 18 and had never flown before. It was the first time I was meeting my boyfriend Jorge in person. I ended up loving every second of traveling by myself and even met a very nice elderly couple that sat next to me on my first plane ride. They talked me through everything that was going to happen when we took off. They also made sure I was not nervous and wouldn’t miss my connecting flight. God was definitely watching out for me on that entire trip.

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you choose?

A sloth for sure. Sloths are my favorite animals. I have over 15 stuffed sloths, posters all over my room, and sloth patterns on a lot of things I own. They are simply the cutest animals I have ever seen. Also, I love how they don’t care how slow they take things. They live in their own time and moments. IT’s so encouraging to me. I am obsessed, and I also have a sloth tattoo.

What’s the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received and/or given?

A suitcase is one of my favorite gifts because of what it symbolizes. The best gift I’ve ever given is a dog. My siblings and I bought a Boston Terrier for my mom because it was her favorite dog from her childhood.

What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you lately?

I broke my foot walking. It’s not funny, but pretty ironic.

Are you married, do you have a significant other?

I’m not married yet, but I’ve been dating my best friend for three years now.

If someone gifted you an elephant, what would you do with it?

Love it forever and a day.

You love sloths, but do you have any thoughts on garden gnomes?

I want someone to make a garden gnome based on me.

So what are you doing at AM Transport?

I’m working in customer service right now.

You’ve only been here a few weeks, but are there any apps, gadgets, etc. that you cannot live without?

I like how many computer screens we have!

What’s your superpower?

Telepathy with my twin sister.

How do you recharge after a long day at work?

I enjoy painting or reading a good book.

What are you currently reading or do you have any book recommendations?

I am currently reading The Leaving by Tara Altebrando, and I highly recommend the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t wish the moment away living for tomorrow; live for the moment you’re in and money returns, life doesn’t.

Thanks to Victoria for taking the time to answer these questions so fully.
