Meet the Team: Rhonda Hazel
We’re always excited to add new members to the AM Transport Services Team. This week, we are introducing you to Rhonda Hazel. Rhonda joined AM Transport this month. She comes to AM Transport from the Walmart Distribution Center where she worked as a Human Resource Clerk for nearly 23 years. She’s never worked in transportation before, but she’s excited for this change!
Favorites
Beer or wine: I like both. I like semi-sweet wine, but I will drink anything. As for beer, I like Modelo with a lime.
Skittles or M&Ms: Both.
Music: All kinds except for hard rock, heavy metal, and really slow country.
Television show: It was Live PD, and now it’s Cops.
Movies: I like Hallmark movies around the holidays.
Podcast: Anything motivational.
Sport: Hockey. I like the St. Louis Blues.
Color: Grays, whites, yellows, creams.
Power Ranger: Not really familiar with the Power Rangers. I’m more into Paw Patrol. Chase and Skye are my favorites.
What do you think about when you’re driving alone in the car.
Projects and things I need to do, and things I don’t want to do.
If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?
A monkey comes to mind because they just look like they have fun swinging from the trees and making funny sounds. (They just monkey around.)
Best Christmas gift you ever received and/or gave?
The best gift was a daughter born in December. She was also the best gift I ever gave!
What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you recently?
I went to pick up a pizza at the wrong place.
Married? Kids?
I’m not married, but I do have a significant other. And I have two grown girls with children of their own.
If someone gifted you an elephant, what would you do with it?
I would say Thank You and re-gift it to my daughter who loves to make sure animals have good homes.
What are your thoughts on garden gnomes?
I do not like them. I think they are creepy.
You’ve only been here a few weeks, but is there anything in the office you can’t live without?
The coffee machine!
What’s your superpower?
Being Mimi to my grandchildren.
How do you recharge after a long day or a long week at work?
A glass of wine is one option, and depending how long the day or week was, might be the whole bottle. I also like to work on a project I may have started like a redo of a piece of furniture. I also find being outside and working in the yard or going for a walk to be relaxing.
What are you currently reading?
I just finished a book on the Kennedys. It was very interesting. And we recently started watching Lucifer on Netflix.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
About 20 years ago, an older friend I used to work with said, “This too shall pass.”
That’s pretty good advice!
