Meet the Team: Christina Dunn
The holidays are coming in quickly, and what better time to introduce you to Christina Dunn. Christina came onboard the last week in October, and we’re so excited to have her join the team. She hasn’t been here long, but is well on her way to learning the ropes. I asked her the regular Meet the team questions, and here are her answers!
How did you end up here at AM Transport?
I was in search of something that didn’t feel like the typical 9-5 job. I heard about the terrific environment and work being done here and decided to try and jump aboard!
What did you do before you came to AM Transport? Did you work in logistics before?
I worked as a letter carrier for 3 years. I have never worked in transportation this way, but I enjoy this side of it!
What kind of work are you doing here?
I’m not doing everything I will be yet. I’m still learning, but at this time I’m checking on carriers and being a line of communication to ensure they make their pickups and deliveries on time.
Favorites:
Beer or wine: Beer. Always beer!
Favorite beer: Yuengling
Skittles or M&Ms: M&Ms. Chocolate. Always chocolate!
Music: Rock music is my favorite, but I’ll listen to anything but country.
Television show: At the moment it’s a tie between Ted Lasso and Grace and Frankie.
Movie: That’s a tough one. Number 1 is Fifth Element. Followed by any Stephen King, Quentin Tarantino, or Coen Brothers film.
Favorite performer: The Foo Fighters
Podcast: The Last Podcast on the Left
Sport: Baseball
Sports team: The St. Louis Cardinals.
Color: Blue
Power Ranger: Green/White. Go Tommy!
What do you think about when you’re alone in the car?
I’m usually thinking about nothing when I’m driving . . . I miss my turns a lot. So I usually sing along to whatever is on the radio.
If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be?
Probably a giraffe. I’d always be where it’s warm, and I’d know what it’s like to be tall.
What’s the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received? What about the best gift you’ve ever given?
I got a karaoke machine for Christmas when I was 10 and sang Hey Jude 100 times a day for probably all of the next year. My parents definitely felt they made a bad decision.
The best gift I ever gave was taking my daughter to see Katy Perry when she was obsessed with her. She was so happy!
What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you lately?
I got in the wrong car at Walmart not that long ago. It was funny once the embarrassment and panic settled.
Married? Kids?
I’m married to my best friend with two daughters. Kennedy is 8 and Harper is 1.
If someone gifted you an elephant, what would you do with it?
Just pet it and love it and cuddle its trunk. I love their wrinkles.
What are your thoughts on garden gnomes?
I’ve never seen one alive . . . I’m starting to think they aren’t real. 🙂
What’s your superpower?
It’s a superpower and a crutch. I’m an empath. I can usually feel what others are feeling. Which is great for relating and sympathizing, but bad when you can’t help!
So are there any apps or gadgets you can’t live without here at AMT?
RingCentral has proven to be helpful and also entertaining. It keeps everyone connected and informed about work, but allows everyone to use gifs and memes to be expressive.
How do you recharge after a long day or week at work?
After work I like to sit on the couch, have a drink, and take a few minutes to myself to just clear my mind and reset for the evening.
Do you have any books or shows you recommend?
I always recommend the weird shows . . . The OA on Netflix is good. When it comes to reading, my attention span is too short. I have a dozen books on my nightstand I’ve only half read.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
My dad told me, when I was young, that I don’t know what someone is truly going through, so when in doubt, be kind. As I’ve gotten older this has really proven true. Kindness always wins!
Kindness always wins! That is definitely some good advice! A big thanks to Christina for answering all the questions! If you haven’t talked to her on the phone yet, you’ll get a chance before long!
