Meet The Team: Autumn Carmody

Meet the Team: Autumn Carmody

We’re always excited when we get a new team member here at AMT. This week we’re happy to introduce you to Autumn Carmody. She started on September 19th, so she’s been here a little over a month.

How did you end up at AM Transport?

I had been thinking of applying at AMT for a few years and never took the plunge to change careers. I finally took the chance to look to see if AMT was hiring and took the risk and applied. Absolutely love it here!

What did you do before you came on at AM Transport?

I am a licensed cosmetologist of 10 years. I worked in a few salons behind the chair in Indiana for 8 years. I then went into teaching cosmetology in Evansville, Indiana in 2020 full time. After I had my second daughter I just went to a subbing position and still sub on Saturdays if they need coverage.

What kind of work are you doing here?

Customer Service Rep

Favorites.

Beer or wine? Depends on what I am feeling that day. I love Semi-sweet/ dry wine. Love a good sauvignon blanc! If I am choosing beer I love a good coffee stout or Blue Moon with orange slices!

Skittles or M & Ms? Skittles

Music? Love all music but if I’m putting something on in the background it’s more than likely country.

Television show? Go to Tv show is Friends! If you ask Luke it’s never not on in our house.

Movie? Sweet home Alabama

Favorite performer? Hmmm.. I’ve been to so many good concerts. Justin Moore is really great. He puts on a great show!

Podcast? Wine Down by Jana Kramer

Sport? Football!

Sports team? Go Illini!

Color? Blue

Power Ranger? Never really watched them

What do you think about when you are alone in the car?

Driving alone in the car rarely happens, not even sure what those thoughts would be besides “Man my house is a mess. Wonder if I could hire someone to clean, lol!!” But if my oldest daughter Ella is with me, more than likely, she is requesting music which consists of Sonic the Hedgehog movie theme song Speed Me Up or the Sing 2 soundtrack.

If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why?

I am really fascinated with gorillas. So I think that’s what I would be. They are so unbelievably smart and just a beautiful animal. I am always amazed seeing them know and do sign language.

Best Christmas gift you ever received? Best Christmas gift you ever gave?

Best gift I ever received was for my birthday and Christmas. Luke took me to the Opry hotel to stay and go to the spa. It was the best weekend ever. Best gift I ever gave was a birthstone ring to my mom that she’d been wanting and wouldn’t buy for herself, so I surprised her with it.

What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you recently?

Lol! Sending a work email to a customer to work training email, The guys really got a kick out of that.

Married? Kids?

Married to Luke Carmody. We will celebrate 5 years in May. We have two beautiful daughters; Ella Renn, 2 years, and Paislee Rae, 6 months.

If someone gifted you an elephant, what would you do with it?

I would try to take it back to its natural habitat. I do love elephants, but I wouldn’t know what to do with them.

What are your thoughts on garden gnomes?

This is a hot subject in our family. My mom hates them and she thinks they are weird. My dad on the other hand loves them and loves to buy them and hide them throughout the house to see how long it takes my mom to notice them. LOL!

What’s your superpower?

Loving all the kids in the world that don’t have a great home life.

You haven’t been here long, but at first glance, what apps, gadgets, etc. can you not live without at work?

My laptop, email, ringcentral and giphy. Everyone loves a good smart ass giphy!

How do you recharge after a long day or a long week at work?

If it’s summertime and Luke and I have time off, going to the current river to kayak would have to be my favorite recharge. No cellphone service is the best. Listening to the water and nature is the best sound. Plus having a few beverages while floating. We’ve been going since we met and it’s our favorite get away together.

What are you currently reading?

Currently reading I Am Watching You by Teresa Driscoll . It’s so good. Only been trying to finish it for 6 months now. Hard to do with littles.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

I don’t remember exactly when my mom told me this. Maybe after high school. “Your true friends that really care about you will always be there for you no matter if you talk daily or not. When you get together, you’ll pick up right where you left off and never have to worry whether or not they will be there for you at the drop of a hat.”

Autumn’s mom must be a wise woman!
