Beer or wine?
Skittles or M&Ms?
Depends on my mood . . . but probably M&Ms.
Glitter. My daughter had a shirt when she was younger that said, “My favorite color is glitter,” and it’s pretty fitting. But I do prefer bright colors like pink, purple, coral, and teal blue.
Do you have a superpower?
My superpower is being a mom.
Favorite show? Favorite Music? Favorite performer?
My favorite music is probably Country or 90s rock/pop. My favorite band is Aerosmith and my favorite singer is Justin Timberlake. My favorite all-time show is Friends. But if I have to pick a show that’s on the air right now, it would be This Is Us.
I am married with 2 kids. Our daughter is 7 1/2 and in Second Grade. Our son is 5 1/2 and he’s in Kindergarten. We have a dog, Parker, and a cat, Bubba.
What would you do if someone gifted you an elephant?
We’d have to start a circus!
What’s the funniest thing that’s happened to you recently?
We were eating supper the other night, talking about what we were going to do over the weekend and trying to get the kids to guess the restaurant we were going to visit on our drive. We gave clues such as, “It’s the place with the rocking chairs outside,” and “There’s a store inside with toys and clothes and other things to look at. They have really good pancakes.” My daughter had it on the tip of her tongue, but couldn’t quite get it. She finally blurted out, “Cracker Hut! We’re going to Cracker Hut for supper!” She was so excited about it. We all busted out laughing!
What do you think about garden gnomes?
Hmmmm . . . Garden gnomes are kinda creepy if there are a lot of them. But initially, they make me think of the kids movie, Gnomeo and Juliet. It’s a cute movie with good songs.
So what do you think about when you are alone in the car?
I am usually only alone in the car for about 5 minutes, so I don’t have much time to think about anything except what all needs to be done when I get to where I’m going.
Do you have a favorite Power Ranger?
I never watched Power Rangers, nor do I know anything about them. But at my son’s Pre-K graduation last year, he was asked what he wants to be when he grows up, and he said, “A Red Power Ranger.”
What are you currently reading?
I just finished Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks. I enjoy all of his books.
What do you do at AM Transport?
I am a Customer Service Representative. I spend my days working with our customers and helping with their shipments. I enter loads in our system, help find the best cost-effective solution to move customer freight, schedule appointments, and communicate with the customer from start to finish of the shipment, and handle anything else along the way.
What apps, gadgets, etc. can you not live without at work?
I need my laptop, headset, email, Google, and an internet connection to function at work.
How do you recharge?
After a crazy day at work and a crazy evening at home trying to help the kids get their homework done, supper on the table, kids bathed and ready for bed, I enjoy watching TV or getting on the treadmill to clear my head. Weekend recharge is time spent with my family.
What’s the best Christmas gift you ever received? Best Christmas gift you ever gave?
The best Christmas gift I ever received was my engagement ring. I would say the best Christmas gift I ever gave is when we told my parents on Christmas that we were expecting our first child.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
Enjoy every minute whether it’s good or bad because it goes too fast.
That’s pretty good advice we should all take! Thanks Laura!
